Supported Hardware – Make Your Own Cloud
You don’t need special or expensive hardware to use our software.
If you have an old computer lying around, you can turn it into your own private cloud.
Simple Rule (Read This First)
Any computer that meets the points below can run our software and become your own cloud:
- Uses an Intel or AMD processor
- Has 8 GB RAM or more
- Has a 128 GB or larger SSD for the system
- Can connect to the internet using an Ethernet cable
This includes old Core i3 / i5 desktops, office PCs, mini-PCs, refurbished machines, and DIY builds.
What You Can Do With It
Once installed, your device becomes a private cloud that you fully control. You can securely access your data from anywhere, manage users and permissions, and store files without relying on public cloud providers.
Storage Made Simple
You can use one or more internal hard disks or SSDs. New or existing drives both work. Our software takes care of organizing data, monitoring drive health, and keeping your storage usable and safe.
Internet & Router Compatibility
Our software works with normal home and office internet connections. It runs behind common consumer routers and does not require complex network setup for standard use.
Recommended for Best Experience
- 8–16 GB RAM
- 128 GB SSD used only for the system
- Separate drives for storing data
- Wired Ethernet connection
These are recommendations to improve performance, not strict requirements.
Things to Know
- Desktops are better than laptops for always-on storage
- USB drives are suitable for backup, not ideal as main storage
- Very old systems may work but can be slower
If your system does not meet recommended levels, the software will notify you.
Prefer Plug-and-Play?
If you don’t want to reuse or build hardware yourself, we also offer Certified Storage Appliances that are fully tested and ready to use out of the box.
